From the editor

There is a difference between reading the Qur'an and being read by it.

The Maps gathered here are not commentaries — they are frameworks I built from the text after a long time spent inside it. The Spirit and the Soul are not the same word. The prophets are not a chronology but a set of templates. The amr equation is what I think the entire human predicament rests on. Each Map began as a personal question; each became, eventually, a systematic argument.

Read in any order. Each Map can stand alone. But they speak to each other, and a reader who walks all of them will see the architecture they share.
